michael scott and dating

A few days ago I was getting ready and doing my hair. I went to the kitchen to get some water, and when I walked back into my room I was just about to sit down to straighten my hair when I stepped ON my turned on straightener! I immediately screamed and ran to stick my foot under the faucet. I was going to post a picture of the gross blister on my toe, but I figured since the last picture I posted was of a dead cricket, I should avoid another gross picture so soon. (You're welcome Rebecca.) Of course I told Rebecca about what happened. Her response, "Who are you? Michael Scott?" Apparently I am as big of a dummy as he is.

I also joined match.com last week. Within the first few days I had 2 emails from guys asking me for my number because "they would love to see me tonight." No thanks. I also started talking to one guy who asked for a "full body pic." Excuse me, I am not in middle school anymore. I've gone on two dates so far, and both (to my surprise) actually went well! I'm sure there will be more stories to tell, so check back for that!

aunt courtney!

So I can officially tell everyone that Rebecca is pregnant and I am going to be an aunt! I can't wait! The week after I found out I went to the Co-Op to buy some things for the kid and went a little nuts. I am  totally going to go broke buying things for it, and I am ok with that. According to Rebecca she is 10 weeks, so her baby is the size of a prune, but it's 2 inches so technically she's the size of a plum or large lime. Either way, it's probably a super cute no longer webbed fetus.

the first kill

I think Luna is ready to become an outside cat. She likes looking at the birds outside, so I got a bird feeder for her so she could look at them more often. Yes, I do get that that is a mean tease. But she'll get over it. So about 20 minutes ago I let her out on the porch after her continual meowing. While she was out there this GIGANTIC cricket jumped in front of her, and she became a predator for the first time...and she actually got it! I was proud and grossed out there was a cricket in her mouth. Unfortunately you can't see it very well, but that's one of it's legs and abdomen sticking out. (In this picture she looks just as surprised as I was that she caught it.)
Luckily I had shut the door behind her since it was hot, and poor thing, all she wanted to do was bring it in and show me. She couldn't meow like normal because then the cricket would be gone. I felt so mean standing there looking at her while she looked up at me wanting to get in. But no way man, if that thing wasn't dead it would be hopping around here when she dropped it. OR I would be finding cricket parts all over the apartment over the next few days. No thanks. Finally she started meowing so I knew the cricket was out of her mouth. Either she ate it or let it go, who knows. But this sad leg was all that I saw leftover by the door. RIP cricket, RIP.
